Our JULIET Blouse from Season VI | MNTL features exaggerated bishop sleeves with a deep vertical slit. This allows for a more fluid and feminine silhouette that is both modest and sensual. Due to the lightweight Viscose we use, this shirt flows weightlessly like a cloud and is a dream to wear.
The collar is adorned with our custom 3D Printed Twig Tie bar--fashioned from photogrammetrically scanning a Tree branch found on one of our many R & D trips. With over 300 photos and several hours of rendering and reconstructing, we re-engineered the branch we had found and been inspired by. From there, we scaled it down to the size of an accessory and manipulated several elements while prioritizing the functional aspects such as the double end hooks that allow the trim to stay connected to the garment.
Each Steel Tie Bar is then 3D Printed in stainless steel, tumbled in nickel to increase luster, and then hand-finished for tactile smoothness.
Finished with our signature Dust Object dye technique, the natural ombre concrete gradient lends itself to accentuating the depth and texture of this piece. The tones and hues of the dyeing process allow for a natural crackle effect that highlights the wabi-sabi handmade nature of the garment.
Cellulose wood-pulp waste Viscose is sourced from France and woven in China, then dyed and finished responsibly at our facility in Los Angeles.
Rolled or hung, this shirt travels perfectly and is easy to pack, and due to its natural texture, wrinkles naturally.
