On June 6, we gathered at Travel Town Museum in Los Angeles to explore a question that had quietly followed us for months:
What exists between the last goodbye and the first hello?
That question became Dear, Sincerely.
More than a collection, it became an invitation to reflect on migration, memory, and the invisible threads that connect us across distance, time, and generations.
But if we are honest, it began somewhere even deeper.
It began with a feeling that many of us may be wary of carrying: the ache of a world growing more divided, the anxiety of watching people pull away from one another, and the sadness of seeing difference become a reason for distance rather than wonder.
Dear, Sincerely was created as a response to that feeling—not with outrage, but with hope.
At its heart, the project was our way of saying that diversity is beautiful. That the meeting of cultures, histories, languages, traditions, and dreams is not something to fear, but something to cherish. So much of what makes life meaningful is born from exchange: the cities we build, the music we love, the food we share, the stories we inherit, and the communities we call home.
We wanted to create a temporary world where that truth could be felt.
Beneath century-old locomotives and drifting clouds of steam, we transformed Travel Town into a place of encounter—a fantastical environment where stories could cross paths and where, for a moment, disbelief could be suspended.
For us, fantasy has always held a quiet power. It allows us to step outside the boundaries of what we think we know. It softens the walls between people. It gives us permission to fall in love with what is unfamiliar, to see beauty in difference, and to imagine the world not only as it is, but as it could be.
In that spirit, migration became more than the movement of people. It became the movement of language, traditions, memories, and dreams. It became the story of carrying pieces of home into unfamiliar places. It became the space between departure and arrival, between what was and what might become.
The experience unfolded as a journey in five acts: Discovery, Adaptation, Memory, Integration, and Departure.
Together, they traced a path familiar to anyone who has ever stepped into the unknown.
At the center of the experience stood a simple invitation: write a letter.
Throughout the day, guests wrote to loved ones, ancestors, future selves, and those left behind. Some letters carried gratitude. Others carried longing. Some offered forgiveness, while others imagined futures not yet written. As they accumulated, they became something larger than themselves—a living archive of hope, remembrance, and connection.
Alongside our friends and collaborators at Anima Initiative, artists, musicians, storytellers, technologists, designers, families, and community members transformed Travel Town into a landscape of memory and imagination.
Stories emerged through sound, performance, movement, and discovery. Greetings and farewells spoken in languages from around the world drifted through the grounds alongside the sounds of historic trains. Installations built from letters, found objects, and fragments of daily life invited visitors to reflect on what we carry forward and what we leave behind.
The experience also looked toward the future. Guests explored experimental digital fashion through personalized avatars, immersive technologies, and a proprietary digital companion experience developed by the VENIA team. Designed as a living map, the platform gradually unfolded throughout the day, inviting visitors to follow their own path through the experience. Each discovery revealed another piece of the story, transforming the museum into a choose-your-own-adventure journey where no two experiences were exactly alike.
For us, these technologies were never simply about innovation. They were another way of asking the same question: how might we create new opportunities for people to connect?
As afternoon softened into evening, music became the emotional spine of the presentation.
Performed live by Arcana Nomadica, the score guided guests through the same five-act journey that shaped the collection itself.
The experience began with a lone accordionist waiting beneath a lamppost, suitcase at his side, as though suspended between departure and arrival. A train bell rang out.
"The train has arrived."
From there, guests journeyed through Discovery, Adaptation, Memory, Integration, and Departure as music and fashion unfolded together.
As the final act approached, musicians slowly packed their belongings and departed the station one by one. A single violin remained, carrying the last melody into the evening as Christine Ko and Keeter Ly stepped forward for their final bow.
Then, one final announcement echoed through the grounds:
"Final boarding call. The train will depart soon."
Yet the story did not end there.
Later that evening, friends, collaborators, and guests gathered for a private afterparty at For the First Time, where sound, projection, film, and technology extended the conversation beyond the runway. Trains passed through immersive soundscapes. Wind activated projections that shifted with the environment. A haptic bench transformed sound into touch, allowing visitors to physically feel the sensation of movement. The collection’s teaser film illuminated the space while music carried the spirit of Dear, Sincerely into the present through a fusion of global influences, industrial textures, and contemporary electronic sound.
Looking back, what remains with us most is not a single garment, installation, or performance.
It is the people.
The artists. The musicians. The models. The technologists. The volunteers. The producers. The families. The friends. The collaborators who believed in the idea long before it existed in physical form.
To everyone who contributed their time, creativity, trust, and generosity—thank you.
This experience belongs to you as much as it belongs to us.
In many ways, Dear, Sincerely became what it set out to explore: a meeting place where different journeys briefly crossed paths before continuing onward.
A railway is, after all, a place of arrivals and departures. A place where strangers share a moment before returning to their own stories.
Perhaps life is not so different.
We are all travelers carrying pieces of where we came from while moving toward places we have yet to discover.And somewhere between the last goodbye and the first hello, we find one another.
For a moment, our stories become intertwined.
Then the train departs.
And the journey continues.
